Prenatal yoga provides the opportunity for women to deepen
their connection with their bodies, babies, and other pregnant women in
the community.
You will learn postures to help you feel healthier and more comfortable
before, during, and after the birth of your child. Specific poses will
be taught to strengthen muscles, alleviate common prenatal discomforts
(sciatica, back pain, leg cramps), and restore energy.
During prenatal
yoga class we will do postures to warm-up, strengthen, stretch and
relax our minds and bodies. Classes incorporate Yoga postures
suitable for all stages of pregnancy; breathing techniques to aid in
concentration; tension relief; and visualizations to bond with your baby.

Itsy
Bitsy Yoga is a calming and nurturing yoga practice full of ways to enhance
bonding and make babies happier and more comfortable in their bodies. Created
by Helen Garabedian, Baby-Yoga expert, a Registered Yoga Teacher and Infant
Developmental Movement Educator, this class contains dozens of unique yoga
postures designed specifically to soothe and support the development of a
baby's body.
During the BABY IBY class, the baby is mostly lying on their
tummy, back or in a parent’s arms. For parents, this
class gives the special time necessary to bond with and learn
about
your baby's emerging personality. Most of the yoga
we do in Itsy Bitsy Yoga is for the child, but you will learn breathing and
relaxation techniques as well as practice some yoga for yourself.

Tykes Itsy Bitsy Yoga offers a fascinating flow of poses, songs, stories,
and games through which parent and child can deepen their bond. Developed
by Helen Garabedian, an Infant/Early Childhood Developmental Movement
Educator and Yoga Teacher, this age-appropriate 45 minute class helps
Tykes and their parents discover and enhance their physical and social
development. With alarming child obesity rates, experts agree that young
children need more structured and developmentally safe physical activity
on a regular basis.
Tykes Itsy Bitsy
Yoga is good for building a child’s foundation
for a healthy and fit lifestyle, and it is so much fun! Tykes often light
up with happiness when they arrive at class. In fact, one mom learned
not to say the word ‘yoga’ unless they were going to a Itsy
Bitsy Yoga class because her two-year old daughter loved yoga class so
much!
NOTE: The TYKES and LITTLE
FAMILY classes are taught exclusively by Helen Garabedian until the
Tykes Itsy Bitsy
Yoga Facilitator Training
and Certification program is offered this fall. (see dates)

Infant
Massage classes help parents deepen their connection with
their babies (birth to pre-crawling) while meeting other new parents in
the community.
Infant massage enhances child development, including brain, physical, emotional,
mental and social development. Touch is the most important of all the senses.
It stimulates all the senses. It “turns on” vision, auditory
(hearing), tactile (touching), olfactory (smell), and taste. It stimulates
language and communication. It promotes parent/child bonding and attachment.
Infant Massage is considered a remedy for colic, constipation, sleeping
disorders, and teething pain. Ultimately, you will learn how to provide
relief, stimulation, relaxation, loving memorable experiences, and a deeper
bond with your child.
